The “Atelier 25th Anniversary Program #5” Livestream, which took place on Sunday, revealed that Koei Tecmo Games’ role-playing game Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout (Tokoyami no Joō to Himitsu no Kakurega) will be adapted into a TV anime this summer.
The upcoming anime, titled Tokoyami no Joō to Himitsu no Kakurega Animation, will feature the original cast from the game. Ema Yuzuriha will direct the anime at LIDEN FILMS, while Yashichiro Takahashi (known for his work on Shakugan no Shana) will oversee the series scripts. Tomoyuki Shitaya (known for his work on Bakuman. and Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma) will be in charge of character design, and Kazuki Yanagawa will compose the music, as he did for the game.

Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout was launched by Koei Tecmo Games’ Gust brand for the PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC via Steam in North America in October 2019. The game was released in Europe in November 2019 and in Japan in September 2019. The sequel, Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy, was released by Koei Tecmo America for the PS4, Switch, PC via Steam, and digitally for PS5 in January 2021. Set three years after the first game, the franchise’s two games combined have shipped over 1.6 million units worldwide.
The release of Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key was originally scheduled for February 22 in Japan for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Switch, and on February 24 in the United States on the same platforms and on PC via Steam. However, Gust and Koei Tecmo America delayed the game’s release on the PS4, PS5, and Switch to March 23 (March 24 in the West) and the game’s release on PC via Steam to March 24.
