The 24th and final episode of the current television adaptation of Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yūsuke Nomura’s Blue Lock soccer manga concluded with an exciting announcement. A second season of the television series and a film based on the BLUELOCK -Episode Nagi- spinoff manga have been given the green light.

BLUELOCK -Episode Nagi- has been running in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine since June 2021, and follows the story of Seishirō Nagi before he enters the Bluelock facility.

Kaneshiro and Nomura created the manga series, which was first published in Weekly Shōnen Magazine in August 2018. The manga’s 17th compiled book volume was released by Kodansha in December 2021 and has sold over 4.5 million copies. The manga was awarded Best Shōnen Manga at Kodansha’s 45th annual Manga Awards in 2021.
Story

The Blue Lock anime debuted on October 8 on TV Asahi and its affiliates as part of the “NUMAnimation” programming block. Crunchyroll streams the anime as it airs and began streaming the English dubbed version of the series on October 22.
