Dr. Stone Season 3 Episode 1 Summary

To rescue Tsukasa from cryogenic suspension, Senku and his team take on the mastermind responsible for the petrification of humanity. Captain Ryusui joins the crew as a necessary member for their voyage, and they embark on a treasure hunt aboard a hot air balloon. Their first task is to locate oil to power the ship and create a map of the Kingdom of Science using aerial observations. Meanwhile, Senku deals with the villagers’ food shortage and works with Taiki and others to address the issue. Thousands of years after an unknown light turned humanity to stone, Chiku and friends set out to explore a new and uncharted world.

The anime is set to premiere in Japan on April 6 at 10:30 p.m. (9:30 a.m. EDT) and will run for two cours, split into different broadcast seasons. Crunchyroll will stream the anime as it airs in Japan and will also stream an English dub starting on April 20. The opening song “Wasure Gataki” will be performed by Huwie Ishizaki.

The first season of Dr. Stone aired in July 2019, with Crunchyroll streaming the series as it aired and Funimation streaming a dub. The anime also premiered on Toonami in August 2019. The second season, Dr. Stone: Stone Wars, premiered in January 2021, with Crunchyroll streaming the series worldwide except in Asia, and Funimation streaming an English dub. The anime debuted on Toonami in May 2021. Additionally, a one-hour anime special titled Dr. Stone: Ryusui aired on July 10.

The manga, created by Boichi (Sun-Ken Rock) and Riichirou Inagaki (author of Eyeshield 21), debuted in Weekly Shonen Jump in March 2017 and concluded in March 2022 with its 26th and final volume shipping in July 2022. Viz Media is publishing the manga digitally and in print, and MANGA Plus is also publishing the manga digitally in English. A fanbook was released in Japan in August 2022.
