The first season of the anime adaptation of Tappei Nagatsuki’s Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- light novel series consisted of 25 episodes and premiered in April 2016. Crunchyroll streamed the series during its Japanese broadcast and also streamed two short anime spinoff series, Re:Zero Starting Break Time From Zero and Re:PETIT Starting Life in Another World from PETIT. In June 2018, Funimation released the television anime on-home video with an English dub.

The anime has also produced two original video anime (OVA) volumes, Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- Memory Snow and Re:ZERO – Starting Life in Another World – The Frozen Bond. The former began streaming on Crunchyroll in February 2020, with the latter following in April 2020.

In January 2020, Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- Director’s Cut premiered, featuring an updated version of the first season with some new footage and reworked episodes to fit a one-hour timeslot. Crunchyroll streamed this updated version as well.

Due to the impact of COVID-19 on production, the second season’s premiere was delayed from April to July 2020. The second season consisted of two parts, with the latter half airing in January 2021. Crunchyroll streamed the second season during its Japanese broadcast.
