In May 2017, Katarina introduced the novel series on the “Let’s Be Novelists” website, Shōsetsu-ka ni Narō. In addition to this, the author also wrote another novel series for Weekly Shōnen Magazine. The story follows the protagonist Saiga 0, who is recognized as the best player of the game “Shangri-La Frontier.”

Story:

Second year high school student Rakurou Hizutome is interested in one thing only: finding “shitty games” and beating the crap out of them. His gaming skills are second to none, and no game is too bad for him to enjoy. So when he’s introduced to the new VR game Shangri-La Frontier, he does what he does best—min-maxes and skips the prologue to jump straight into the action. But can even an expert gamer like Rakurou discover all the secrets that Shangri-La Frontier hides…?

Subsequently, in July 2020, Fuji launched the manga series titled “Shangri-La Frontier ~ Crappy Game Hunter Challenges God-Tier Game” in Weekly Shōnen Magazine. The 11th compiled book volume of the manga was released in Japan on December 16, while the 12th volume is scheduled to be published on March 16. Meanwhile, Netmarble Nexus is developing a game based on the series, which will be published by Netmarble.
