At the AnimeJapan 2023 event, it was announced on Sunday during a stage presence that the second season of the Spy X Family anime will debut in October on TV Tokyo and other channels. The event also unveiled a visual for the upcoming movie in the franchise, titled Gekijōban SPY×FAMILY Code: White, which will hit theaters on December 22.

Kazuhiro Furuhashi, who directed the anime’s first season, is returning to direct the second season at WIT STUDIO and CloverWorks. Takahiro Harada will also be returning as the assistant director, while Ichiro Okouchi, who has previously worked on series like Code Geass and Mobile Suit Gundam, will serve as the new series script supervisor, replacing Furuhashi.
The film will feature an original story, with original manga creator Tatsuya Endō credited for the original work and original character designs. Takashi Katagiri is directing the film, and Ichiro Okouchi is the scriptwriter.
The manga has been published in Weekly Shonen Jump since March 2019, with Viz Media handling its English publication. The first season of the anime premiered in April 2022, with the second half airing in Japan on October 1.
Crunchyroll streamed both halves of the first season and is also streaming the English dub. Additionally, the manga is also inspiring a stage musical adaptation set to run from March to May 2023.
