The Official Twitter Account of Makoto Shinkai Reveals Light Novel. Originally Written By Makoto Shinkai Himself. The Suzume no Tojimari Film’s Light Novel is Set is to be Released on August 24th.

On his Twitter account, he wrote, “I’ve had the hardest time, but I’m most pleased to write it. You’ll enjoy a story with a different range than the movie.” Also, the cover illustration showing the back of the sparrow was drawn for the novel version.

Nanoka Hara as Suzume

Suzume Iwato will be voiced by Nanoka Hara. Nanoka Hara was selected to play the role of Suzume from more than 1,700 audition participants. Nanoka Hara said, “she cannot shake the feeling that this could all be a dream. She said that the first time she saw a Shinkai film in a theater, during the summer of her first year in middle school, was unforgettable.

Suzume no Tojimari Movie Story-

17-year-old Suzume’s journey begins in a quiet town in Kyushu when she encounters a young man who tells her, “I’m looking for a door.” What Suzume finds is a single weathered door standing upright in the midst of ruins as though it was shielded from whatever catastrophe struck. Seemingly mesmerized by its power, Suzume reaches for the knob…

Doors begin to open one after another all across Japan, unleashing destruction upon any who are near. Suzume must close these portals to prevent further disaster.
