The Official Website for The Detective Is Already Dead Anime Reveals that the Season 2 is in Production. The production of the second season was announced during the MF Bunko J Summer School Festival 2022 Livestream.
The first season premiered in July 2021 and aired for 12 episodes. Funimation streams the anime with sub and dub.
The released PV contains new voices of Kimihiko Kimitsuka played by Shin Nagai , Siesta played by Saki Miyashita, Nagisa Natsunagi played by Ayana Taketatsu, Yui Saikawa played by Kanon Takao , and Charlotte Arisaka Anderson played by Saho Shirasu.
The Detective Is Already Dead story-
Kimihiko Kimizuka has found himself inadvertently entangled in various crimes more times than he can remember, referring to himself as a magnet for trouble. One day, as if it was nothing out of the ordinary, a group of unknown men kidnaps him, forcing him to board a flight—where he also encounters a hijacking. Amid the resulting chaos, however, Kimizuka meets a stunning silver-haired beauty, going by the codename Siesta, who then saves the day. Claiming to be a legendary detective, Siesta enlists Kimizuka to be her sidekick. Though Kimizuka refuses at first, with Siesta’s insistence, he eventually joins her—marking the start of a grand adventure spanning the entire world, preventing multiple threats that could spell doom for humanity along the way.
The Detective Is Already Dead is a Japanese light novel series written by Nigojū and illustrated by Umibōzu. A manga adaptation with art by Mugiko has been serialized in Media Factory’s seinen manga magazine Monthly Comic Alive since May 2020. An anime television series adaptation by ENGI aired from July to September 2021.
