On Monday, the official website of the anime adaptation of Koume Fujichika’s manga, “The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses” (Suki na Ko ga Megane wo Wasureta), released the third promotional video for the series. The new video introduces additional cast members and announces that the show will premiere on July 4th.

The anime is scheduled to premiere on July 4 at 11:00 p.m. JST on Tokyo MX, followed by broadcasts on MBS and BS Asahi. Additionally, the show will be available for streaming in Japan on platforms such as U-NEXT, ABEMA, and other services.

Staff Members

The anime is being helmed by Susumu Kudo, known for his work as the chief director of “The Masterful Cat Is Depressed Again Today” and director of “K” and “Cinderella Nine.” Joining him is Katsumasa Yokomine, who is directing the series. Tamazo Yanagi is responsible for writing the scripts, while Shingo Suzuki serves as the concept artist. Takayuki Uchida takes on the role of character designer, and Hiroshi Okubo is the main animator. The chief animation directors are Keiji Tani, Makoto Furuta, and Takayuki Uchida. Overseeing the sound direction is Hisashi Muramatsu from Glovision, and the music for the series is composed by Jimmy Thumb P at Flying Dog.

The opening theme song, titled “NAME,” will mark the debut of 16-year-old singer Tsuzuri. The song is composed and arranged by Shota Horie, with lyrics by DECO*27. Moreover, singer and composer Masayoshi Ōishi collaborates with voice actor Masahiro Itou and voice actress Shion Wakayama to form a new unit called “Masayoshi ga Megane wo Wasureta.” This unit will perform the ending theme song, “Megane Go Round.”

In November 2018, Fujichika initiated the manga’s publication in Square Enix’s Gangan Joker magazine. The manga has also been licensed by Comikey from Square Enix and is being released digitally in English.
