DLsite has temporarily suspended the monetization of AI generated works due to the rapid proliferation of AI-powered artwork. This decision has been made as the company considers developing new guidelines and policies for its users. As the trend of utilizing AI tools for the creation of doujins, games, manga, and other forms of digital content continues to gain momentum, many individuals are turning to platforms like Pixiv, Fanbox, DLsite, and Ci-en to monetize their AI-generated works through fan support or doujin sales.

Pixiv has recognized the extraction of website art for datasets, vulnerabilities in the tagging system, and AI art filtering as areas of concern. To address these issues, the company has emphasized that the scraping of artwork is already forbidden under its existing Terms of Service and is working on enhancing its technology to prevent scraping. Additionally, Pixiv has implemented a filtering system that conceals AI-generated artwork posted in rapid succession by a single user from search results in an effort to mitigate the deluge of such content in user feeds.
Various platforms that enable the sale of doujin, manga, games, and other related content have recently announced that the sale of works incorporating AI will be suspended for the time being. DLSite made this announcement on its official Twitter profile.

Similarly, Pixiv Fanbox has decided to completely prohibit transactions involving AI artwork, citing a mismatch between such transactions and the site’s overall vision and concept. Ci-en, meanwhile, has expressed difficulty in keeping up with the sheer volume of AI-generated content and has decided to halt the acceptance of AI-based job requests for the time being. Even Fantia, which previously had a designated category for AI art, has revised its policies and suspended all AI art transactions until issues of misuse of the technology are addressed.
